MotoLoop is a group ride coordination app for motorcyclists. The app helps riders share the next stop, see group status, send quick ride signals, and review basic ride history.
1. Data we collect
Location data
MotoLoop collects location data while you are part of an active ride.
We use location data to show your approximate position to other participants in the same ride, show live group status, detect whether riders are active, offline, or delayed, calculate basic ride summaries such as distance and duration, and store a reduced ride location history for basic ride recap and history features.
MotoLoop is intended to collect location data only in the context of an active ride.
Background location
MotoLoop may collect location data in the background while you are part of an active ride. Background location is used so the group can continue to see ride status even when the app is not open on screen.
MotoLoop does not intend to track users outside active rides.
Device data
MotoLoop may collect basic device data, including a device identifier generated by the app, platform type, app version, push notification token if notifications are enabled and available, and last seen timestamp.
Push notification data
If you enable notifications and push notifications are available, MotoLoop stores a push notification token for your device. MotoLoop uses push notifications for ride-related events only and does not use them for third-party advertising.
Ride data and ride history
MotoLoop stores ride-related data including ride name, ride code, participants, current and previous targets, quick signals, participant status, ride start and end time, reduced location history, and basic ride summary.
Ride history is kept until the user deletes it or requests deletion, unless a shorter retention period is introduced later.
Account data
MotoLoop creates an anonymous device-first user account when you first use the app. Future account features may allow ride history from an anonymous account to be linked to a claimed account.
2. How we use data
MotoLoop uses collected data to create and join rides, show the current next target, show live group status, show rider locations during active rides, send quick signals, send ride-related notifications, generate basic ride summaries, keep ride history available, and improve app reliability, diagnostics, and safety.
3. Who can see your data
During a ride, other participants in the same ride may see your display name, participant status, quick signals, current ride location, and last seen or offline status.
Ride data is not intended to be public, but rides are code-based. Anyone with a valid ride code may be able to join the ride.
4. Data sharing
MotoLoop does not sell user data.
MotoLoop may share limited data with other participants in the same ride, infrastructure providers required to run the app, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the security or reliability of the service.
5. User choices and deletion
You can control app permissions through your device settings. You may disable location permission, background location permission, and push notifications.
In the future, MotoLoop intends to provide in-app account or data deletion. Until that feature is available, users may request deletion by contacting MotoLoop by email.
